HOOF is a team of experts with more than 20 years of experience in creating comprehensive design solutions for office and commercial spaces. The jury of the prestigious 2021 CBRE OFFICE SUPERSTAR competition awarded the brand’s implementations in three categories: ‘THE BEST OFFICE IN POZNAŃ’, ‘THE BEST OFFICE IN WROCŁAW’ and the best ‘TEAMWORK SPACE’.

CBRE OFFICE SUPERSTAR is a prestigious competition promoting organisations that view their offices not only as workplaces, but also as friendly and comfortable spaces for their employees. The aim of the competition is to promote innovative solutions in office space design, present current trends in different sectors that shape the market of office spaces and recognise progressive concepts that work in practice.

The finalists are selected by the independent Chapter consisting of top-class experts from the following sectors: real estate, architecture, working environment, change management as well as design and futurology.

The first distinction – ‘THE BEST OFFICE IN POZNAŃ’ – was awarded for the implementation of the project for the new GSK office that opened in 2020. The office design was inspired by the local environment – the Old Market Square in Poznań. The key was a well thought-out design dividing the office into smaller segments in order to reduce noise and gain on cosiness. It features more than 20 rooms equipped with the latest technological solutions, 9 creative zones with unique furniture, spacious kitchens, a room for socialising and entertainment, a room for creative work with a library, jukebox and popcorn machine. What makes it stand out is the implementation of solutions tailored to the needs of minorities, such as gender-neutral toilets. The project also includes special-purpose rooms, for example for parents with children. The office is a major investment focused on the employee well-being and offers a unique atmosphere conducive to relationship building and creative work. The project was implemented by Teodor Barciński and Aleksandra Szutarska from HOOF.

Another distinction was awarded in the category ‘TEAMWORK SPACE’. Apart from the latest trends, the project features an innovative combination of conventional office space and meeting areas. This resulted in 9 zones for creative work with unique equipment: swings, hanging tables, living green walls and mobile whiteboards designed to transform the space at any time according to the teams’ needs. In order to enhance cooperation between the dispersed teams, more than 20 rooms were equipped with CISCO technological solutions, projectors, ceiling cameras and a sound system. Solutions designed to meet the needs of minorities, such as gender-neutral toilets, were also implemented along with a room for parents with children. The creative workroom was equipped with Microsoft Surface Hub 2, a popcorn machine and a library, among other features. There are also spaces conducive to socialisation: rooms with football tables, PlayStation and cosy kitchens. All this makes for a workplace that isn’t limiting but rather inspiring. The GSK project was implemented by TP Bennett and included the office, the teamwork space and the chill-out room. The canteen and the help lounge were designed by architect Katarzyna Rut from HOOF.

‘THE BEST OFFICE IN WROCŁAW’ is the last of the awarded projects. The main aim of the CALLSTACK project was to create a space that would be comfortable for the employees, flexible for the teams and enjoyable for everybody. Functionality is not enough. The interior design was meant to be intriguing and original while remaining consistent with the brand’s philosophy. The designers’ role was to create a space conducive to socialising, spending time together during and after work, celebrating shared meals and recreation. The themes featured in the interior are the ones that CALLSTACK identifies with as a technological company and refer to science, technology and space. The project by we.make studio and Aleksandra Hobler was coordinated by Krzysztof Fedoryszyn and Andrzej Ambrozik.
